Baby #1
1-Where were you when you found out? Sittin' on the toilet! Officially, I found out at the Women's Clinic.
2- Who did you first tell? Of course Derek, and then I told my mom, dad, and brother with a "Grandma" picture frame.
3- Did you find out the sex of the baby? Yes, he was definitely a boy!
4- Did you have morning sickness? No
5- How much weight did you gain? 27 pounds
6- Did you get any stretch marks? Oh baby!
7- Did you have any cravings? Sugary cereal without the milk
8- Were there any complications? No
9- When and where did you go into labor? I had contractions the night before he was born and luckily I had a Dr. Appt. the next morning which they told me to head to the hospital because I was 3-4 cm., overdue, and there was no fetal movement.
10- Did your water break? No, Dr. broke it at 2:30 p.m.
11- Who drove to the hospital? I drove myself to the Dr. Appt. and then Derek drove me the block to the hospital.
12- Who was in the room for the birth? Derek and my mom.
13- Was the baby born early or late? 5 days late
14- How long were you in labor for? From when my water was broke, only 6 hours.
15- Did you have any drugs for the pain? Of course, I am a big fan of the epidural.
16- Natural or C-Section? Natural
17- What was your first reaction after birth? I could not fathom that he was finally here and that the labor was much easier than I ever expected. But I was not excited when I realized all of the things that occur after the baby is born.
18- How big was the baby? 6 lbs. 13 oz. (same as me!)
19- Date and time of birth? March 9, 2009 at 8:35 p.m.
20- Baby's name? Drayton Derek Vranes
21- Does the name have any significant meaning? I was a gymnastics coach for a 4 year old boy named Drayton that was absolutely adorable and I loved the name and Derek is after his father.
22- Did the baby have any complications? No
23- How old is the baby today? 3 weeks today
24- What kind of temperament has the baby had so far? He is an awesome baby, he hardly ever cries, he just grunts!
25- Would you change anything about it? Now that my baby blues are over and done with, NO WAY! I wonder what my life was ever like without him!
