Croup

Thanksgiving this year was a slight challenge. I remember thinking at the beginning of last week, "I hate feeling like this (completely crappy), especially when you are at someone else's house." I knew that we would be going to Utah this year for Thanksgiving, and there is NOTHING worse than being sick when you are not in your own home. Sleeping in your own bed, using your own humidifier, knowing where everything is, staying in your jammies all day long (all though I do that pretty much everyday anyway), and the list goes on. Well...I did get better. By Wednesday I was feeling so much better actually! But poor baby Dray...He has had a cold going on three weeks now. I think I got mine from him. He was getting better on Wednesday too. He wasn't coughing in the night anymore and his nose finally had stopped running non-stop! But that night, he wouldn't sleep well. I thought it was reasons like, sleeping in a different bed, excited to play with his cousins, not enough blankets, bad dreams, etc. That morning he was okay and then when we got to Thanksgiving dinner he was so whiny and emotional. Again, I am thinking of new reasons, too many people, etc. He didn't eat hardly anything (not anything new), but it was worse. He wanted Mama, Dada, and Obda (Grandma) ONLY! His runny nose was back and I think he had a stomach ache, he also felt warm. That night he was coughing so violently that he threw up all of over me. I almost threw up too! I HATE vomit! The next day, his cough was so bad, and progressively getting worse. Granny told me I better take him to the Doctor. Just as she suspected, croup! Anyway, more coughing, fussiness, sadness, and runny noses...He threw up again two days later, this time in the car.  I am so ready for him to be feeling better. I worry very easy and I hate seeing my little baby struggle and be so sad. Luckily, he has been asleep now for two hours without hacking up a lung! I sure hope he is getting better. The Doctor said croup is pretty intense for 2-3 days and then the cough gets better but can last for another 2-3 weeks. (He just won't sound like a dog or a seal) We just got to get rid of his mucus plugged nose. We have got to teach that kid to blow!!!
